Eight-Pointed Star
The eight-pointed star is a symbol of the morning star, which is the last brightest star in the eastern horizon before dawn. In Lakota legend, the morning star represents the link between the living and the dead, and the direction spirits travel to earth. The eight points of the star represent the four stages of life (infancy, youth, maturity, and old age) and the four cardinal directions.
The eight-pointed star is the star that led the shepherds to baby Jesus in the Bible.
